A/N: saw this gif and instantly had to write it XD then saw this and I’m like “yes, now I have to write it even more and the gif fits in with what I originally planned (extra score!)”
And now because I keep delaying this fic, stupid dumb butt gives me more reason to write this >.< reason 1, reason 2, reason 3, reason 4 he just loves to be a puppet, doesn’t he?
And more proof of how this fic needs to be written because this just fits in so well with what I planned ^^ example 1 and example 2
And if I need more evidence to be writing this au *cries* example 3 he just loves to be used as a puppet T_T (this is the same as reason 1, just a different angle)
Suho sat on the shelf watching people walk in and out of the store. Many people just passed him over barely giving him a glance. Then in walked this young gentleman. He looked very stylish in his button down, vest, and slacks. He walked straight over to the shelf Suho was sitting on, looking at everything on the shelf. His eyes lit up when he spotted Suho and Suho felt his heart rate speed up looking at this man’s eyes. It felt like the man was peering straight into his soul and it made him shiver.
“I’ll take that one.”
The cashier smiled and reached up to pull Suho off the shelf. “An excellent choice, sir. That will be $25.50.”
The man reached into his pocket and withdrew his wallet. He paid and the cashier handed Suho over to the man. The man cradled Suho in his arms as he left the store.
The man walked to his car and set Suho in the backseat, securely him safely for the drive.
Suho smiled to himself. No one had ever treated him this kindly before.
The man pulled up in front of a little shop. He carried Suho inside, straight towards the back where a puppet stage was set. Several puppets were seated nearby.
“Hello everyone. I have a new addition to the group.”
The puppets all stared at Suho.
“Tell me, what is your name?”
“It’s Suho.” Suho stared in shock. Did words just come out of his mouth?
The man smiled. “Suho…that’s a nice name. Perfect for someone like you. I’ll let you meet the rest of the gang and they’ll help you settle in. Tomorrow, we have work to do.”
The man got up and left through some stairs in the back. Suho turned and found all the puppets standing around him.
“H-h-how did you-?”
“Hi, my name is Luhan.”
“The name’s Kris.”
“Uh nice to meet you but can someone explain to me what just happened?”
“Well, you’re the latest addition to Chen’s puppet show. He’s been looking for someone new for a while now, has some new idea for a show.”
“Oh okay but can someone explain to me how I was about to speak to – Chen?” Suho looked at the group puzzled.
“Oh, that. Well, it’ll take some getting used to but this is a magic shop. Something here lets us puppets talk and move like normal people. But wait until midnight ‘cause that’s when the magic really starts.” Luhan smiled with a twinkle in his eye.
Suho was given a tour of the place, where their resting area was, the stage, etc. He knew the general layout of the area but he was curious about this magic. He had never encountered anything like this.
“So tell me more about this show I’m supposed to be acting in.”
“Oh, I don’t know the full details. It’s all up in Chen’s head, but he gives us lines for us to memorize. That’s all we have to do, remember our lines and cues. He does the rest for us.”
“What do you mean ‘does the rest’?”
“Well, we’re puppets. While there is magic here to help us move around, other people aren’t suppose to know about that. We’re only allowed to speak. Chen has to make us move when we’re performing.”
“Yeah, I’m curious about this new show he has planned.”
“Well, it’s about time he had us perform a new show. It’s been about 3 months.” Kai leaned against a wall looking at Suho and Luhan. “He was starting to get a bit antsy too. You could tell.”
“Kai’s one of the first puppets Chen ever bought. He had Chanyeol and Baekhyun when he was a kid so they’re old timers compared to me and Kris. Chen bought us as a set.”
“And now he bought you. So technically, you’re the maknae of the bunch.” Kai smiled as he walked over to them and slung an arm around Suho’s shoulder.
“Thanks…so is there anything I need to know about the place other than what you’ve told me?”
“Nope. You’ll get along fine.”
Suho looked up and found Chen smiling at him.
“Sorry for just leaving you like that and without a proper introduction.” Chen bowed. “Hello, my name is Chen the Puppet Master. Welcome to my shop. I hope you’ll enjoy it here. Now gather round everyone and let me introduce our new show.”
Suho looked at the stacks of paper next to him. “And exactly how am I suppose to read this? It’s huge!”
Kris looked at Suho’s stack. “It’s manageable.”
“But the paper’s so big.”
“Oh, don’t worry. You can read it later. He gives us a while to memorize it considering the circumstances.” Luhan smiled as he walked by with his own stack, which was just slightly smaller than Suho’s.
Suho looked at Luhan wide-eyed. “How are you carrying that?”
Luhan came over and patted Suho’s back with a smile. “Just wait and see, young grasshopper.”
Suho stared at Luhan like he was just a bit crazy.
Luhan just grinned widely at him before going back to grab his stack of papers and skipping away.
“It’s almost time.” Luhan smiled as the rest of the puppets gathered around in a circle in the middle of the floor.
“Come on.” Baekhyun smiled as he grabbed Suho’s wrist and pulled him to join the circle.
Suho looked around confused. “Uh…what’s going on?”
“Shh…it’s almost midnight.” Suho looked at the clock on the wall.
As the clock struck 12, something strange began to happen.
Suho looked down to see his body enveloped in a bright light. A tingling sensation worked its way through his body. He watched as his limbs began to change colors and grow. He noticed as the scenery around him began to shrink. Almost as quickly as it started, it stopped.
Suho looked around and saw Luhan, Kris, Kai, Baekhyun, and Chanyeol smiling as they changed clothes.
“Here, put this one. I think it should fit you. If not, we can just buy you some clothes later.”
Suho caught the clothes thrown at him. He quickly put them on, with some help from Baekhyun and Luhan.
“Can someone explain what just happened?”
“We’ve turned human. And now it’s time to party. Want to join us?” Kai smiled as he stood near the entrance with Kris.
Baekhyun smiled as he slung an arm around Suho’s shoulder. “I think we’ll take Suho with us and show him the ropes of this being human thing. It’s his first night so he should take it easy. You guys have fun and let me know what happens.”
Kai smiled. “I’ll let you know if Lover Boy comes back. Bye, have fun.” The three left with a smile and wave.
“Come on, Suho, let’s show you the world.” Baekhyun and Chanyeol smiled as they led Suho out the door. They missed the shadow in the window above, watching them leave.
“Welcome to the world. First, let’s go get you some food and then some decent clothes.” Baekhyun smiled as he led Suho through the streets.
“Oooo…let’s go here, let’s go here.” Chanyeol smiled as he pointed to a little restaurant on the side.
Baekhyun smiled. “Sure. Come on, Suho. We’ll show you the time of your life.”
The three had fun chatting and eating traditional Korean food.
“So what do you think so far?” Baekhyun smiled as he finished his bowl of rice.
Suho finished his plate of food and smiled at Baekhyun. “It’s nice. I always got to see people doing this and wanted to do it myself.”
“Well this is just the beginning. Next is shopping.” Baekhyun’s eyes twinkled.
Suho’s eyes never stopped wandering as he took in the sites of all the stores and clothes and everything. Baekhyun smiled seeing the childlike wonder on his face.
“You’re so cute. Chanyeol and everyone else were just like that too the first time it happened.”
“It happened to you too.” Chanyeol stuck his tongue out at Baekhyun.
“How would you know? You weren’t there.” Baekhyun smiled as he leaned over and kissed Chanyeol’s cheek. “Now come on, we need to get Suho some clothes and other necessities. Ooo…this looks like a good store.”
Baekhyun grabbed Suho and Chanyeol and pulled them into a store.
They spent the next two hours shopping for clothes and shoes. Baekhyun would have Suho try things on before saying nay or yay. He did the same for Chanyeol as well but kept most of his attention on Suho since he was the one in dire need of these items.
The three walked back to the shop, arms loaded with shopping bags.
“Did I really need to buy all these things?”
“Yep.” Baekhyun smiled. “Now that you’re part of the gang, you’ll have to get use to this being human stuff. It happens every night. You learn to take it as a gift and do whatever pleases you. You’ll be out exploring by yourself in no time. Well, actually, you’ll probably want one of us as your guide since we’ve been around longer and know the city well. But once you learn the city yourself, you’re free to explore on your own. It’s not recommended though. Once, Chanyeol went out by himself and got himself lost. It took us hours to find him, almost until daybreak when the magic wears off.”
“He had been chasing some animal and ended up going to some strip club. When he got out, he was completely lost because he had forgotten where he’d come from. Chanyeol’s not very good with directions, so now whenever we go out, he has to stick with someone. He’s like a puppy, easily distracted. Like this.” Baekhyun nodded his head towards Chanyeol who was staring up at the stars and almost ran into a pole until Baekhyun pulled him away in the nick of time.
“Oh…okay. So uh, where are we going to put all this stuff?”
“Come on, I’ll show you.” Baekhyun smiled as he slipped inside the shop and headed towards the back. Suho noticed a door that Baekhyun opened with a smile. “This is our playroom.”
Suho’s eyes widened as he looked inside. “Wow…” The room had several beds, a few armoires, some drawers, a few chests, a keyboard, desk, TV, and stereo system.
“This one can be yours.” Baekhyun pointed to a random bed. “And here’s your closet space.” He opened an armoire and pointed to a rack.
“Anything that can’t fit there can go in one of the drawers or a chest. I think they should be labeled with your name already. Chen is very good about these types of things.”
“Is this seriously just for us?”
“Yeah.” Baekhyun smiled. “Sometimes, there are nights we don't want to go out and we’ll stay in here chatting and playing amongst ourselves. It’s great. You’ll get used to it.”
“But wait until your first clubbing experience. Now that will be a ball.”
Baekhyun looked up and smiled. “Oh hey, I didn’t know you guys were back.”
Kai smiled as he straightened up from the doorway. “Yeah, well the club was pretty much winding down and it was almost time to leave anyway.”
“Where are the others?”
“Kris should be back soon. He stayed to keep an eye on Luhan and Lover Boy.”
“So Lover Boy returned?”
“Yep. And he wouldn’t leave Luhan’s side the whole night.” Kai grinned as he hopped onto a bed.
“Nice…hopefully I get a peek at Lover Boy next time.”
“Well maybe you wouldn’t miss him if you didn’t keep disappearing with Chanyeol almost the instant we get there.”
Baekhyun had the decency to blush a bit.
Chanyeol poked his head through the doorway. “Hey, come on. It’s almost time.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah…we’re coming. Come on, Suho. Back to puppet form.”
Suho got up and followed Baekhyun and Kai back out to the others. Everyone had taken up his same spot in the middle of the floor.
“Once you turn back into a puppet, go back to your original position.”
“Back by the puppet theater. Now hold on, it’s time.”
The moment the sun broke over the horizon, the same glow from before enveloped Suho’s body. Just like before, his body tingled but instead of growing, he shrank and returned to his puppet form.
When the light faded, everyone hurried back to the puppet theater, choosing various positions before closing their eyes to get a bit of shut-eye before practice began.
Suho felt someone tug on his strings and he opened his eyes to see Chen smiling at him.
“Rise and shine. Time to start practicing.”
The rest of the puppets slowly opened their eyes and gathered around Chen.
“Have you guys looked at the script yet?”
“Nope.” Luhan grinned as he swung his legs over the edge of the stage.
Chen sighed. “Has anyone else?”
Everyone shook his head.
“Guys, guys, guys…”
“Chen, Chen, Chen…we have time. Besides, you just got a new puppet that still needs to learn the ropes. If you want, you spend time with him and get him caught up. We all know what we’re doing already.” Baekhyun grinned as he leaned against Chanyeol.
Chen sighed. “Fine, you guys can go rehearse the lines together and I’ll work privately with Suho.”
“Give him a break down of what you expect and everything. I’ll make sure everything runs smoothly.”
“Kris, you’re in charge. Make sure they stay in line and don’t do too much damage to the set.”
Groans could be heard all around as the puppets got into position.
“Aww…why does Kris get to be in charge? I’ve been here the longest.”
“And you’re still the same child you were when I first got you. Kris is the most mature out of all of you. He can keep you all in line.”
Baekhyun grumbled as he got to his spot and rehearsals began.
Chen, after checking to make sure the puppets were doing okay, turned back to Suho with a smile. “Alright, Suho. Time to get started on your training.”
“Training?” Suho’s eyes widened as Chen’s grin widened.
“Training.” Chen grabbed Suho’s strings and carried him away from the rest of the group.
“Come on, Suho. It’s not that hard.” Chen smiled gently at Suho as he tugged on his strings.
“I’m sorry, Chen, but I’ve never had to actually talk before. I’m use to someone just pulling my strings and doing everything for me. How do you expect a first-timer like me to memorize all the lines you’ve given me in just a few months?”
Chen sighed and let go of Suho’s puppet strings. “Alright, alright. Sorry, I expected so much from you at first. It’s just…you seem so intelligent and smart so I thought you’d get the hang of it soon. Kris and Luhan adapted really well and so did Kai. Chanyeol took a bit of time and Baekhyun really was a guinea pig but he did so well with it too. I guess I’m getting too used to puppets that want to be human.”
Chen put his face in his hands, shaking it in slight misery.
Suho’s eyes widened and he quickly came over and patted Chen’s arm. “Oh no no no…that’s…I do want to be human sometimes and I liked that I had the chance last night but it’s just all so new and so much to take in. I’ve been living on a shelf for so long in that store, just watching people pass by. Then one day, someone buys me and I suddenly get to move and talk and then turn human. It’s a lot to take in at once you know.”
“Oh right…right…I-I never thought about that. The others never really said anything I guess. They were just too happy when they learned they could move and talk and then be human for a time.”
Suho smiled gently at Chen. “It’s fine. Don’t worry too much about it. If you want, go check up on the others. I’ll get started trying to memorize this script.”
“Are you sure? I feel a bit uneasy leaving you alone by yourself.”
“It’s fine. You’re only walking a few meters away. You’ll notice it anything happens to me.”
“Oh alright…have fun memorizing.” Chen smiled as he walked to check on the other group.
Suho sighed and did his best to move the script into a good position for him to read and turn the pages. He smiled seeing a bookstand and started dragging the script towards it. He struggled to get the script up and then smiled seeing in up. Then he sighed before turning the first page.
Someone clapped behind him.
Suho jumped and turned around to see Baekhyun grinning at him.
“Good job. It took me a while to move the script the first time I was given one.”
“What do you mean?”
Baekhyun walked over to Suho and sat down, patting the space next to him. Suho took a seat and looked at Baekhyun puzzled.
“Let me tell you some things about Chen Chen since I’ve been here the longest. Whenever Chen buys a new puppet, he’s always made the star of the show. It’s kind of like a test run for him to see if he purchased a good puppet or not.”
Suho paled (or would have if he wasn’t made of wood). “W-W-What happens if they fail?”
“Oh, he either gives them away or sells them back.”
“I-I-Is that going to happen to me?”
Baekhyun grinned. “Nope. You’re special. Well, I gotta get back to the others. Chen Chen’ll probably noticed I’m missing now.”
Chanyeol poked his head up above the table edge. “Come on, Baekkie. Chen wants to see what we’ve done so far.”
“Okay, I’m coming.” Baekhyun smiled as he hopped down from the table and followed Chanyeol back to the stage.
Suho looked at his script and sighed. “Well, time to get to work.”
Suho was busy reading the script when someone tapped him on the shoulder. He jumped up and turned around to see Luhan grinning at him.
Suho followed Luhan back into the main area where everyone else was gathered. This time, he knew what was happening so he let his body relax and change. When it was all over, he went into the back room to grab his clothes to change into since he had forgotten to pick some out before the change (not like he would have been able to carry it. He wasn’t as strong as the others in puppet form…yet).
“So where do you want to go this time, Suho?” Baekhyun smiled as he wrapped an arm around Suho’s shoulders.
“Ooo…can we go to noraebang?” Luhan smiled as he jumped up and down in front of them.
“What about Lover Boy? Don’t you want to see him?”
Luhan’s smile turned into a smirk. “Haven’t you heard of playing hard to get? It’ll do him so good to not see me once or twice at the club. Besides, I haven’t been to noraebang in forever. Ooo…but can we grab some food first? And maybe shop a bit. I need some new clothes.” He plucked at the clothes he was wearing, looking for signs of wear.
“You can shop any other time. Let’s take Suho to noraebang after food.”
Luhan pouted before smiling. “Fine. But I get to choose the restaurant.”
“Here, this is fusion Korean and Chinese food. It’s delicious.” Luhan smiled as he dug into his bowl.
Suho looked at his bowl a bit skeptical.
“Go on, try it. It’s really delicious.” Chanyeol smiled as he scooped up some food into his mouth.
Suho hesitantly tried a piece. “Mmm…this is really good.”
“Yeah. Now hurry up. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can go to noraebang and sing.” Luhan smiled brightly before snatching some food from Kai’s bowl.
Luhan grinned as he popped the piece of food into his mouth.
Suho was led into a dimly light room with couches, a giant TV, some kind of sound system, a table, some microphones, and a few books.
Luhan and Baekhyun were already pouring through the books. Kris and Kai made themselves comfortable on the couches.
“So what do you think?” Chanyeol smiled at Suho from the couch.
“Uh…I’m not sure exactly.”
“Here, choose some songs, Suho.” Baekhyun smiled as he shoved a book under Suho’s nose.
Baekhyun frowned. “Do you not know any songs? Hmm…we must fix that. Well, you can just sit back and watch for now. But if you know any of the songs we sing, let us know and we’ll let you have a mic.”
He went skipping back to Luhan’s side and the two began inputting in song numbers.
Baekhyun and Luhan each grabbed a mic as a song began to play on the TV behind them.
For the next two hours, they stayed at the noraebang. Everyone was happy and relaxing as mics were passed around. Suho found himself singing a few times when he heard a familiar song. Baekhyun and Luhan sang the most. He was surprised to hear Chanyeol rapping. He was even more surprised when Kris sang a song.
“You have a pretty good singing voice, Suho. We need to have you listen to more songs so you can sing some more.” Kris smiled as he wrapped an arm around Suho’s shoulders.
“Looks like we have to educate Suho on some pop culture. Who wants to be the teacher?” Luhan smiled brightly at the group.
“Let Kai do it. He knows all the latest songs and stuff. I can help him with fashion. Uh…what else is there?” Baekhyun looked at Chanyeol and Kris for help.
“I could help with anything left.”
Everyone turned to see Chen smiling at them.
“Chen! What are you doing here?” Chanyeol smiled as he patted Chen on the back.
“How did you know we were here?”
“Did you follow us?”
“So what’s this about educating Suho?” Chen walked over to the group, greeting everyone.
“Well, Suho is lacking in cultural knowledge. We were thinking of beginning his education tomorrow with the basics. But we weren’t sure what else we needed to teach him.”
“How about you guys teach him about pop culture and such and I’ll teach him everything else about being human? Seeing as I’m human myself, I think I’d be the best teacher.”
Luhan shrugged his shoulders. “He did teach the rest of us so why not let him teach Suho too?”
“Alright sure. He’ll go to you, after his lessons with us.” Baekhyun smiled. “Now let’s head home before it’s daylight.”
Suho was able to sleep for a bit before Chen was tugging on his strings to wake him up for practice.
“Wakey, wakey, Suho~ time for practice then later some lessons. Now let’s go.” Chen smiled as he picked up Suho and carried him to their little practice space.
Suho saw the other puppets already awake and practicing.
“So have you memorized any of your lines yet?”
“No, not yet, Chen, but I think I’m getting used to actually speaking them myself.”
Chen smiled at Suho. “Good, shall we practice?”
For the next two hours, Chen worked with Suho, helping him practice his lines and get used to actually speaking instead of having someone just pull his strings and control him.
“I think we should take a break for now. You’ve improved quite a bit, Suho. Look through the script again, try to memorize your lines a bit before Kai and Baekhyun descend upon you for your lesson.” Chen smiled and waved before disappearing upstairs.
Suho turned to look at the script on the bookstand. He sighed before moving over towards it and looking over his lines.
“How’s the lesson going?” Chen smiled at Kai, Baekhyun, and Suho from the doorway. Suho was seated in front of a blackboard covered with text.
Baekhyun looked at Chen with a smile. “He’s slowly getting there. He at least knows some things already but he’s so old. He’s like a grandpa with his tastes. We need to bring him up to speed, be more modern and hip.”
“We were thinking we’d take him out again to see the sights.” Luhan smiled from his perch on the desk. “Once we’re human again of course. Care to join us?”
Chen shook his head. “I think I’ll pass for now. So I take it Suho isn’t up for another lesson from me?”
Suho gave Chen a small smile. “Sorry but no. Baekhyun and Kai showed me a lot of stuff today and on top of the lines I have to memorize, it’s a bit much. Maybe some other time.”
“It’s time to change, guys.” Kris indicated towards the clock.
“We’ll continue this later, Suho. Come on.” Baekhyun smiled as he pulled Suho towards the circle.
“Oh but what about –“
“I have them right here.” Chanyeol pointed to a pile of clothes that were next to everyone else’s clothes.
The change took place quickly or so it seemed. Suho was slowly adapting to this whole changing human thing. He quickly dressed and looked at everyone.
“So what are we doing today?”
“Shopping!” Luhan smiled as he waved his wallet around.
“Any other suggestions?” Baekhyun looked at everyone.
“I wouldn’t mind going to a club.”
Baekhyun shook his head. “I don’t think Suho’s ready for that yet. Gotta keep it simple.”
“Well how about you four go shopping while Kris and I go to the club?”
“Luhan doesn’t want to go? Don’t you want to see Lover Boy?” Baekhyun looked at Luhan with an arched brow.
Luhan shrugged his shoulders. “I’m playing hard to get. Besides, I need some new clothes so shopping takes priority over clubbing.”
“What about you, Suho? Any preferences on what we do?”
Suho shook his head. “Not really. I’m still adjusting to this but I want to eat before we shop. I’m hungry.”
“Alright, we’ll grab some food before we go shopping. You two want to join us?”
Kai shook his head. “Naw, it’s fine. We’ll just grab our own food before we hit the club. We’ll see you guys later.”
Kris and Kai waved before heading out the door.
“Alright, Suho. Choose the restaurant we’ll eat at okay? Now let’s go.” Luhan smiled as he linked arms with Suho and dragged him out the door, followed by Baekhyun and Chanyeol.
Suho watched Baekhyun and Luhan go from store to store discussing and sometimes arguing about clothes. They would pick things out for Suho to try before shoving him into a dressing room. He had no idea how many times this happened but after two hours, Suho was holding at least 5 different bags in each hand.
Suho looked at Chanyeol who was holding 10 different bags in each hand. “How do you carry all that?”
Chanyeol shrugged his shoulders. “You get used to it after a while. Don’t worry, you’ll build up your strength and then you’ll be able to life and carry anything.”
“Yeah.” Baekhyun smiled as he leaned onto Chanyeol’s arm. “If you want, we can teach you some muscle building exercises. It takes a while for anyone to develop muscles but we can teach you some methods to try and help hurry the pace along.”
“Chen had us all enroll in a gym program at the beginning to get our strength up and after a few months, we stopped going since we’d all gotten through that initial weak phase. Now we go occasionally when we feel like it but we do enough exercise around the shop to not really need to visit a gym. If you want, we can show you what one looks like before Chen takes you there himself as part of your lessons as a human.” Luhan smiled brightly at Suho.
“Uh sure…if you guys want to.”
“Might as well. There’s one nearby and you should at least see the facility before you enter it so you don’t look like a complete noob.”
Suho looked at Luhan confused. “What’s a noob?”
Luhan grinned. “Something Baekhyun or Kai will teach you in the coming lessons. Now come on. Let’s go see how you react to a room full of sweaty men.”
Suho’s eyes widened as Luhan grabbed his wrist and dragged him off to the gym.
Luhan laughed as he patted Suho on the back. “You should have seen your face. I can’t believe how weak you are.”
“Oh come on, Luhan. Don’t laugh. You were like that too your first time.” Baekhyun gave Suho a sympathetic smile.
“Yeah, I know but it’s still funny. I’m sure I didn’t make a face like that my first time.”
“No, you made a face more like this.” Chanyeol demonstrated using his own face. Suho looked at him and burst out laughing.
“Hey! It wasn't that dorky.”
Chanyeol smiled. “Nope, it was dorkier.”
Luhan pouted but smiled when he noticed some people walking towards them. “Oh hey guys, how was the club tonight?”
Kai smiled as he walked over to them. “Same old, same old. Lover Boy asked me where you were.”
“And I told him I didn’t know. But I have the best news.” Kai grinned as he glanced at Kris. “Kris here has a boyfriend.”
“WHAT?!?!!?” Everyone turned to stare at Kris.
“You’re overreacting and he’s not my boyfriend.”
“Fine, lover, whatever. But he’s Kris’s. I saw the two making out in a dark corner in the club for at least an hour.”
Luhan stared at Kris wide-eyed. “Do I know who this is?”
Kai smirked. “Yeah. It’s that panda boy.”
“Him?!?!?! OMG!!! KRIS!!!!!!”
Kris sighed and looked at Luhan. “What? And can you keep your voice down?”
“The panda boy?!??! Really, Kris? What changed your mind? You always kept him away.”
Kai leaned over to loudly whisper in Luhan’s ear. “Panda boy got Kris a bit tipsy before dragging him onto the dance floor to dry-hump him.”
“KRIS!!!!!” Luhan looked at Kris with wide eyes.
“Luhan, voice. Come on, let’s get going. It’s gonna get light soon. We can finish this discussion later.” Kris started walking back, not even checking if the others were following (which they were).
“Wakey, wakey.” Suho opened his eyes to see Chen smiling at him and holding his strings. “Time for practice.”
“Yes, Chen.” Suho got up and let Chen carry him to their little practice area.
Chen worked with Sehun for two hours, moving his strings as Suho said his lines.
“Good job, Suho. You’ve improved a lot in such a short time.” Chen smiled.
“Thank you, Chen.” Suho shyly smiled at Chen.
“Hey Chen, are you guys done?” Baekhyun poked his head up from under the table.
“It’s time for Suho’s lessons. An early start means he can have his lesson from you today too. I know you’re looking forward to that.” He winked at Chen who just smiled.
“We’re just about done. Keep practicing, Suho. I’ll see you later for our lesson. Have fun.” Chen waved before disappearing upstairs.
Baekhyun grinned at Suho. “Come on, lesson time.” He grabbed Suho’s hand and led him to their makeshift classroom.
Chen smiled as he lightly knocked on the doorframe to get everyone’s attention. “How’s the lesson coming along?”
Baekhyun looked at Suho with a satisfied smile. “I think our work here is about done. He’s such a fast learner; he’s almost more modern than me. Well not really but close.” Baekhyun chuckled to himself.
“I think he’ll be reporting to you from now on for lessons.”
“We showed him the gym yesterday. You should’ve seen his face.”
Suho blushed (not that you could even see it since he was made of wood) as Chen looked at him. “Oh really? I guess we should go there first for our lesson then? After you change of course.”
Luhan looked at the clock. “Well, what do you know? It’s almost time.”
Luhan smiled brightly. “Come on, everyone, let’s get into position.”
It only took a moment for them to change.
Chen smiled as he handed Suho his clothes. Suho blushed as he got dressed in an old t-shirt and shorts. “Now you’re ready for the gym. You guys have fun. I’ll take good care of Suho here.”
“Okay, bye Chen Chen. Bye Suho.” Baekhyun waved.
“Bye Chen. Bye Suho. Have fun.” Kai smiled and waved.
Suho watched the five boys leave together, probably getting food before doing whatever it was they were going to do. He turned to look at Chen smiling at him.
“Ready for the gym?”
Suho nervously nodded his head.
Chen’s smile widened. He held out his hand.
Suho hesitantly placed his hand in Chen’s and allowed himself to be dragged away.
“You’re doing good, Suho. Keep up the pace but don’t overwork yourself.” Chen smiled at Suho as he watched him run on the treadmill.
For the last hour, Chen had been working with Suho, showing him the different equipment and how to use them. Chen had Suho work on building his muscles and now working on his cardio.
“Come on, Suho. You can do it. Only 10 more minutes and you’re done.”
Suho breathed heavily as he tried to keep the same pace on the treadmill. He was feeling tired as he had never exercised before. He wasn’t sure if he was glad or mad that Chen was making him do everything all at once.
“Won’t I be sore tomorrow?”
Chen shrugged his shoulder. “Maybe but you have strings. If you can’t move, I can just make you move. But you’ll need to keep up this routine to be able to build muscle. We’ll be going to the gym tomorrow again as well. But maybe not as long.” He smiled at Suho who was staring at him.
“Now come on, you’re almost done. Just a bit more.”
Suho sighed but continued running.
Suho could barely open his eyes as Chen woke him up.
Chen chuckled and smiled. “Sore? Well that’s okay. I can just move you like a puppet.”
Suho felt himself being lifted up and held by his strings.
Chen moved Suho to their practice area. “Alright, let’s start.”
Suho groaned but recited his lines as Chen moved him around.
For the past week, Chen had taken Suho to the gym, having him work out for an hour each night. Suho had felt his body aching even as he felt his body adjusting. At first, Suho had been fine, able to move but after a whole week of what felt like intense workouts, Suho was at his end.
“Ready to go to the gym again tonight?” Chen grinned at the slightly scared look Suho sent him.
He chuckled and patted Suho on the head. “Oh don’t worry. I won’t tire you out again. It’ll be relaxing this time. Trust me.”
Suho looked at Chen puzzled.
