Summary: It’s Eunhyuk and Donghae’s wedding day and everything should be perfect but they forgot the one most important thing: their baby!
“Oh, I can’t believe you’re getting married today, Hae.” Donghae smiled as her friends fussed around her. Leeteuk, Heechul, Sungmin, and Ryeowook were all here to help her get ready and make her wedding day memorable.
It’s been a year since Donghae’s been engaged and had Eunhae. A year full of wonderful memories with her fiancé and child.
After Donghae had been released from the hospital with Eunhae, she and Eunhyuk moved in together so they could raise their child together. They had fun taking care of Eunhae. Sungmin and Ryeowook would come over to visit and help out. At the same time, the three of them were busy planning Eunhyuk and Donghae’s upcoming wedding with the help of Leeteuk and Heechul. The wedding would’ve been sooner but Donghae insisted that they wait a year so they can get settled in with the baby. She didn’t want to have to worry about Eunhae and her wedding (too much stress).
Sungmin and Heechul were the most excited about planning the wedding. They wanted it to be big and showy but Donghae vetoed that idea. She didn’t want anything outrageous, just a small ceremony for friends and family. But Sungmin and Heechul insisted that it be a big event.
“It’s not every day you get married. You only get married once.” That’s what Sungmin always said to Donghae whenever she protested so Donghae was forced to let Sungmin and Heechul have their way. They only listened to Donghae’s opinion when it came to her gown, the color of the bridesmaid dresses, the kind of flowers she carried, and the menu for the reception afterwards. They dealt with all the other details from booking the location to the seating arrangements to the decorum.
The wedding was set for springtime, late May/early June. The ceremony was held in a church while the reception would be at Heechul and Leeteuk’s place. Donghae would carry a bouquet of white roses down the aisle. Donghae decided Ryeowook would be her maid of honor since she was her first friend when she transferred schools. Sungmin, Leeteuk, and Heechul would be bridesmaids. They were to be dressed in light blue instead of pale pink as Heechul and Sungmin wanted. The menu had been decided and sent to the caterers.
All details had been finalized. Donghae was so relieved when Sungmin happily told her that all wedding plans had been completed. Before she knew it, it was her wedding day.
Donghae stood in the room, staring at herself in the mirror. She was dressed all in white in a simple but elegant wedding dress. Heechul had done her makeup for her so now she looked radiant, positively glowing. Donghae had decided to leave her hair wavy and loose. Leeteuk placed the veil on her head.
“Oh, you look so gorgeous, Hae. That dress really suits you.”
“I can’t believe you’re getting married today.” Leeteuk dabbed the tears in her eyes with a tissue; she didn’t want to ruin her makeup. “Just a year ago, you were having a child. And now you’re getting married. It’s out of order but it’s alright.” Leeteuk laughed.
“So are you ready? It’s almost time for you to become Mrs. Eunhyuk Lee.”
“Almost. Oh gawd, my stomach feels all funny,” Donghae placed a hand on her stomach, “like there are butterflies flying around in there.”
“Oh it’s alright to be nervous. It is your wedding day. Besides, what kind of bride doesn’t feel nerves on her wedding day?” They all laughed.
“Alright everyone, it’s almost time to get into place.” Everyone started moving around.
“Why do I get the feeling that I’m missing something?” Sungmin and Ryeowook looked at Donghae.
“Do you have something old?”
“Yep, my garter.”
“Yep, the dress.”
“Yep, the earrings.”
“Yep.” Donghae pointed to the blue ribbon tied around her bouquet.
“Well seems like you have everything.”
Donghae gasped. “OMG! I forgot my baby. What’s Eunhae going to do during the ceremony? She has to be a part of the ceremony or it won’t be complete.”
Leeteuk smiled. “Don’t worry, Hae. I already found a place for her.”
Donghae turned grateful eyes towards Leeteuk. “Really? You did? Oh, thank you. I love you, Teukie.”
“So what’s Eunhae going to do in the ceremony?”
Leeteuk flashed her dimple smile. “She’ll be going down the aisle with Henry and Zhoumi as ringbearer and flower girl.”
The girls all squealed. “Aww, that’ll be adorable.”
“Smart idea, Teukie.”
“Alright everyone. Places please.”
The girls went out into the hall and lined up. Henry with his basket of flower petals, Eunhae in her decked-out stroller with Zhoumi behind to push her, Sungmin and her boyfriend Kyuhyun, Heechul and Hankyung, Leeteuk and Kangin, Ryeowook and Shindong, and then Donghae.
Soon music played, signaling the start of the ceremony.
Henry walked down the aisle first, soon followed by Eunhae and Zhoumi. Henry tossed out the flower petals the way he was taught. Eunhae just smiled as Zhoumi pushed her down the aisle towards Eunhyuk. A pillow was placed on her lap that held the two rings.
Once the children had reached the end, Sungmin and Kyuhyun began their walk down the aisle. Soon Heechul and Hankyung followed and then Leeteuk and Kangin.
Ryeowook and Shindong came after all of them. As she walked down the aisle, she looked amongst the guests and spotted her boyfriend Yesung. She sent him a smile as she proceeded down the aisle. Yesung smiled back and fingered the box in his pocket.
The music changed to the wedding march. Everyone stood up and looked towards the doorway. Donghae took a deep breath, placed a smile on her face, and started her walk down the aisle. She walked in time to the music. She looked straight ahead at Eunhyuk and smiled. She couldn’t believe it. She was going to be married to Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk, the man she loves.
As Donghae approached the end of the aisle, Eunhyuk held his hand out and helped Donghae the last few steps. He smiled at her before turning towards the priest.
The ceremony was over in a few minutes. It was so fast Donghae had difficulty processing it. One moment she was standing there with her hand in Eunhyuk’s and then the priest was telling them, “You may now kiss the bride.”
Eunhyuk pulled Donghae towards him and gently kissed her. When he pulled away, they were both smiling.
“I love you, Lee Donghae.”
“I love you, Lee Eunhyuk.”
Eunhyuk smiled and held her hand. They proceeded back down the aisle and into the waiting limo that would take them to Leeteuk’s place for their reception.
The reception was a big hit. Everyone enjoyed themselves, talking, drinking, eating, laughing.
“Oh Hae, that was a beautiful ceremony. I’m so happy for you.” Sungmin hugged Donghae.
“Thanks. I still can’t believe it. I’m married to Eunhyuk. I’m married to Eunhyuk and we have a baby together.”
“Keep saying it and maybe we’ll both get used to it.” Eunhyuk wrapped his arms around Donghae’s waist and placed a kiss on her cheek. Donghae smiled and leaned back into her husband’s arms.
“Come on, Hae. I think it’s time to cut the cake.” Donghae smiled as Eunhyuk led her away to their 3-tiered wedding cake. Everyone gathered around and watched as Donghae and Eunhyuk cut the cake together and fed each other a bite from the first slice.
Everyone gathered around the newlyweds’ table. Many people offered them congratulations and well wishes. Some even complimented their daughter.
The people at the table glanced over at Eunhae. Henry was sitting next to her, keeping her company. Everyone ‘aww’ed over how cute it was seeing Henry feed Eunhae.
“They’re so cute together. What if they get married when they grow up?”
“Don’t talk like that. She’s still a baby. Marriage is a long way from here.” Eunhyuk frowned, making Donghae giggle at how cute her husband was being. She placed a kiss on his mouth.
“Aww don’t talk like that, sweetie. I think it would be cute if they married when they’re older. Henry is a good catch. You’ll find no better guy for her than Henry.”
“Except for my son, Zhoumi, right Donghae?” Donghae looked over at Heechul and smiled.
“Uh huh, sure Heechul.”
At that moment, Henry leaned over and gave Eunhae a kiss, causing all the adults to gasp and “aww”. Eunhae blushed while Henry just beamed at her before looking towards his parents and their friends. He flashed them a cheeky smile, exposing his hamster like cheeks.
“Umma, can I marry her when I grow up?”
Eunhyuk and Kangin just gaped while Leeteuk and Donghae laughed.
“Of course you may, Henry.” Leeteuk scooped Henry up into her arms while Donghae placed Eunhae in her arms. “Just wait for Eunhae to grow up before you marry her.”
Henry smiled. “Alright. When we get married, I want a wedding just like Donghae umma.”
Everyone stared at Henry, shocked and surprised. Eunhae giggled in Donghae’s arms, breaking everyone out of the spell Henry cast over them. She reached her arms out towards Henry.
Donghae looked at her daughter then at Henry. She smiled before placing Eunhae in Leeteuk’s lap, next to Henry. She wrapped her arms around Henry and snuggled into him. Everyone smiled at the cute little couple except for Eunhyuk.
Donghae caught her husband’s frown. She leaned against him and looked up at him. “What’s the matter, Hyukkie?”
“I don’t like the thought of my daughter getting married already. She was just born yesterday and now she’s already engaged to someone. I won’t have it.”
Donghae laughed. “You’re so cute when you’re jealous and angry.” She gave him a kiss and snuggled back into his embrace. “You have nothing to worry about. She’ll always be yours just like I’ll always be yours.”
Eunhyuk smiled and kiss Donghae’s forehead. “You’re mine just like I’m yours.”
A/N: I am so sorry for the ending but all ideas failed me when I tried to come up with a way to end this…
