Summary: The boys used to pick on the girls when they were little kids. Then the girls moved away, overseas for a few years. When they came back, things had changed…in more ways than one.
Leeteuk woke up to the smell of cookies baking. She got up from bed and slowly made her way into the kitchen. Sungmin was in the kitchen, making cookies. She smiled when she saw Leeteuk.
“Hello unni. How are you feeling? Would you like something to eat?”
“Great. I’ll just heat something up. Why don’t you go out into the living room? The others are there.” Leeteuk nodded and walked into the living room and stopped dead in her tracks.
Kyuhyun was sitting on the chair, playing his PSP. Eunhyuk and Donghae were cuddled up together, watching TV. Heechul was resting on Hankyung, watching everyone else.
“Teukie unni!” Donghae got up from the floor and ran over to Leeteuk, giving her a big hug.
“Hi Hae. What’s going on?”
“We’re just hanging out. We hope you don’t mind that we invited our boyfriends over.”
“No, it’s alright.” Leeteuk smiled at the boys. “Hello Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Hankyung. Wait Hankyung? What are you doing here? I thought you and Heechul –“
“We’re dating now. See?” Heechul showed off the ring on her finger.
“Wow…when did that happen?”
“Yep. I finally understood what he meant.” Heechul smiled brightly and gave Hankyung a kiss.
“Here you go, Teukie unni. Your dinner.”
“Thank you, Minnie.” Sungmin placed the plate on the dining table. Leeteuk sat down and dug in. She didn’t realize how hungry she had been. She had forgotten to eat lunch today.
“So what have you guys been doing all this time?”
“Just relaxing and hanging out.”
“That’s great!” Leeteuk ate her food and looked around. She frowned and looked at everyone again. She counted in her head.
“She’s in her room. Been there the whole time, ever since she got home.”
“Hmm, alright, then where’s Wookie?”
Everyone looked around in surprise.
“What? Wookie’s not back yet? But it’s been hours since she left with…Yesung oppa…” Everyone looked at each other before the girls started panicking.
“OMG! What happened to Wookie?”
Ryeowook woke up to find herself being gently lifted out of the car and carried by Yesung. She wrapped her arms around Yesung’s neck and laid her head on his shoulder. She nuzzled into him, fighting away her sleepiness. Yesung held her close to him. Once she was secure in his arms, he carried her into the house he had rented.
He gently laid her down on the bed. Ryeowook instantly snuggled into the blankets. He tucked her in and kissed her forehead.
“Sleep a while longer, sweetie. I have a few little things to do.” Yesung took Ryeowook’s sleepy mumble as an answer. He smiled at her sleeping form and walked out of the room, turning the light off and closing the door.
“Come on, Kangin. You too, Siwon. You guys can’t stay cooped up in your rooms the whole night. Don’t you have to eat at least?” Shindong poked Kangin who was lying dead on the couch. He got no response. Shindong moved over to Siwon’s room and knocked on the door before entering. He found Siwon hunched over his desk with only the desk light on. Shindong felt a little creeped out at the sight of Siwon sitting alone at his desk, diligently working on something.
“Siwon-ah? You hungry? Let’s go out and eat. Come on.” He got no response. “Siwon? Hello?” Shindong walked over to Siwon and shook him gently.
Siwon stirred to life. He had been lost in a daze, thinking about his plan. He hoped it would work. “Huh? Oh hello hyung. What brings you here?”
“You hungry? Let’s go grab something to eat.”
“Alright.” Siwon followed Shindong out into the living room. Kangin was still lying in the same position as before.
“Come on, Kangin. Let’s go get some food.”
“Where is everyone else?”
“I don’t know.” At that moment, Shindong received a text message. It was from Hankyung.
HK: We’re hanging at the girls’ dorm. Feel free to order take-out for dinner.
“Hmm…well it seems like the other boys are with the girls. Do you want to go up to them or go out and buy some food?”
Kangin sat up straight. “Wait, the guys are with the girls? What are they doing there?”
“I have no idea. Want to go check it out? Maybe we can get some food from them.” Shindong started out the door.
“Hyung! Is that all you think about?” Siwon sighed before following Shindong. Kangin reluctantly followed.
“Ryeowook…Ryeowook…wake up, my love.” Hands gently shook Ryeowook.
Ryeowook was lost in a dreamworld. She was wandering in a meadow, enjoying the sunshine. She was picking flowers and singing when someone called her name. She turned around and smiled at the man calling for her. She ran towards him but a meter away from him, someone tugged on her arm, pulling her away from him and out of her dream.
She woke up with a start and the first thing she sees is Yesung staring down at her. He’s looking at her with such intensity she blushes. She’s never had a man’s undivided attention before (she was always surrounded by her more beautiful unnis) and it unnerves her especially since she still isn’t completely awake.
She sits up in bed, Yesung moving away, and looks around the room. Everything is dark so she can’t see anything but she can just make out the silhouettes of an armoire, a dresser or bookshelf, a desk, a few chairs, and what could be a fireplace.
She looks at Yesung standing next to the bed. “Ye-ye-yesung? Where am I?”
He smiles. “Change into this and come out once you’re done.” He placed the bag on the bed and left the room, turning on the lights and closing the door.
Ryeowook looks inside the bag and pulls out a dress. The design is very simple but the shimmery blue color makes it look more elegant and classy.
Ryeowook quickly changes into the dress and finds matching shoes. There’s also a small bag that contains accessories and hair clips. She goes over to the vanity standing next to the armoire. She sits down and combs her hair before clipping up one side of her hair. She places the necklace around her neck and puts the matching earrings on.
Once she’s satisfied with how she looks (she could never look stunning or beautiful), she opens the door to be greeted with a trail of rose petals. She follows the trail into the dining room. She gasps.
Candles were placed around the room, giving the room a soft, romantic glow. The table was set for dinner for two. A small vase of roses sat in the center of the table. Soft music was playing in the background.
Yesung stood on the side of the table, dressed in a dark suit. He smiled at Ryeowook. She looked so beautiful. He walked over to her and held out his arm. She placed her arm on his and he walked her the few steps to the table. He pulled out her chair.
Ryeowook smiled at him as he pushed in her chair. He walked into the kitchen and came back with two plates of food.
“Here you go, my lady. The first course.”
“Thank you, Yesung.” She smiled and started to eat. Yesung watched her eat for a moment before digging into his own food. Once their plates were clean, Yesung got up from the table and brought out the next plate.
“So how are you feeling, Ryeowook? All better?”
Ryeowook smiled. “Yes. I needed that nap. I haven’t been getting much sleep lately.”
“I’ve noticed.” Ryeowook blushed and they lapsed into silence.
“So uh…Yesung oppa, can you tell me where we are exactly?”
“We’re staying in my own private beach house. We’re completely isolated. No distractions from the modern world. There’s everything you could possibly want here.”
“It’s like we’re in our own private world, isn’t it?”
Yesung smiled. “Yes, it is. You actually understand unlike anyone else I know.”
Ryeowook blushed and gave a shy smile that Yesung found completely adorable.
“I like to come here to escape from everyday life. It’s so nice and peaceful out here. Oh, I do have games and things like that here but the atmostphere here is different. It’s pure, untainted…”
“I know what you mean. This place is your quiet place, your safe haven, a place to go to when you want to forget about the rest of the world and the problems that plague it. You’re so lucky to have this place. I wish I had a place like this. It would be so nice to be able to get away whenever you want. If I had a place like this, every other weekend or so, I would bring the girls here so we can all relax and have fun. It would give Leeteuk unni a chance to rest. She never gets enough sleep at home; she worries too much. And all the other girls would have fun too. We wouldn’t have to worry about anything for a few days.” Ryeowook sighed. “That would be heaven. I would just love that.”
“Well if you want, you’re welcome to borrow this place whenever you like.”
“Really? You mean it?” Ryeowook looked at Yesung with hope shining in her eyes. Yesung smiled.
“Of course. Just let me know and I can arrange everything for you.”
“Thank you, Yesung oppa.” Ryeowook smiled before going back to eating her abandoned food.
Yesung cleared their plates and brought out dessert. Ryeowook smiled and looked at beautifully decorated cake. There were letters on it. She looked at them and tried to read them.
Yesung waited a moment. He smiled when he heard Ryeowook gasp.
Ryeowook looked from the cake up to Yesung’s eyes.
“Yesung oppa…” Ryeowook whispered.
“Yes, my love?”
“Do you really mean that?” Ryeowook pointed at the cake.
Yesung smiled. “Yes, I do.”
Ryeowook smiled back. She stood up from the chair and walked over to Yesung. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him, deepening the kiss.
Ryeowook pulled away and looked up at him from under her lashes. “I love you, Yesung. I really truly love you.”
“I love you too, Ryeowook. I always have, ever since we were little kids and I bullied you. I only did that to express my feelings. I love you so much, Wookie-ah. Stay with me. Be mine.”
“First answer this question.”
“Only if you’ll answer mine.”
“Alright.” Ryeowook took a deep breath. “Will you sing me songs every night before I go to sleep?”
“Of course. Now answer my question.”
Ryeowook smiled. “You have to wait and see.”
Yesung’s jaw dropped. “What do you mean by that?”
Ryeowook laughed. She gave Yesung a hug and a kiss. “Just what it means. I’ll tell you my answer to that question later but I think you already know the answer.” She smiled up at Yesung. “Now let’s go watch a movie together. I want to cuddle with you on the couch. And later you’re going to sing to me.”
“Alright.” Yesung smiled. “What movie would you like to watch?”
Ryeowook smiled innocently. “Pick the boring one. I want to spend the whole movie making out with you.”
Shindong knocked on the door. Sungmin answered the door. “Oh, hi Shindong. Come in, come in. What brings you up here? Oh, hello Siwon. Hello Kangin.” The boys came inside and Sungmin shut and locked the door after them.
“Oh, well they’re in the living room. You guys can go in if you’d like. Are you hungry? Would you like some food?” Sungmin smiled at the three boys.
Shindong smiled and pulled Sungmin into a hug. “You’re an amazing woman, Sungmin-ah. Marry me please.”
“YAH! Shindong, get your hands off my woman.” Kyuhyun pulled Sungmin out of Shindong’s embrace into his arms. “And don’t go proposing to her either.” Kyuhyun held Sungmin close to him. He glared at Shindong.
Siwon sighed. “There you go again, hyung. Soon you’re going to make everyone jealous with all your crazy proposals. You have to stop. That’s what led to Yesung’s actions today. You need to control your feelings. You’re letting your love of food cloud your judgement.” Siwon walked into the living room and froze.
Kibum was sitting in the chair, reading a book, the same book he had given her a few days ago. She looked so content Siwon didn’t want to disturb her. But Kibum happened to look up at that moment and lock eyes with Siwon.
Kibum stared at Siwon for a minute before closing her book, getting up from the chair, and going back to her room. Siwon watched her leave. He wondered if he should go after her or not.
“Go talk to her.” Siwon jumped a little and turned around to see Donghae standing behind him. “She’s been in her room the whole time, probably moping. Go talk to her and resolve things. I know she really wants to be with you; she just doesn’t know what to do. Go on.” Donghae nudged Siwon in the direction of Kibum’s room. “Go in there and talk to her. And don’t come out until you’re a couple or she flat out rejects you and kicks you out.” Donghae knocked once on Kibum’s door before opening it and shoving Siwon inside. Siwon heard the click of the lock and turned to see Kibum sitting on her bed, book in her hands.
“What are you doing here?” She was looking at him with such disgust and annoyance Siwon lost it.
“To talk some sense into you.” He strode across the room and claimed Kibum’s lips in a passionate, heated kiss.
