Summary: The boys used to pick on the girls when they were little kids. Then the girls moved away, overseas for a few years. When they came back, things had changed…in more ways than one.
Kibum woke up early the next morning. She stretched, glanced at her desk, got out of bed, and glanced back at her desk. Sitting on her desk was a neatly wrapped present and a note.
It reminded me to you ☺
Kibum glanced at the box and picked it up. She carefully opened the lid and gasped. Nestled in tissue paper was a necklace. The pendent was the two drama masks: happy and sad, comedy and tragedy. She pulled it out of the box and held it up to the light. The silver sparkled in the light. She smiled before placing it around her neck.
Siwon was waiting by the school gate, hoping to catch a glimpse of Kibum. Hopefully she had gotten his gift and was wearing it.
He kept staring down the street, on the look out for a group of beautiful girls. He smiled when he caught sight of Kibum. He moved away from the school gate towards her. He stopped right in front of her. She looked up at him, expressionless.
“Yes, Siwon oppa? How may I help you?”
“Are you available for lunch today?”
“I’m sorry but I have other plans. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get to class.” Kibum politely walked past Siwon, making sure to brush up against him. Siwon turned around and watched Kibum walk away, all confident and arrogant, her hips swaying gently.
Sungmin was at her locker again, putting all her fanmail and gifts into her spare bag. She had just finished picking them all up when she noticed a lone rose, sitting in her locker. She took it out and noticed something twined around the stem. She held up the rose to notice a necklace wrapped around it. She smiled before carefully unwrapping it and placing it around her neck. She closed her locker and skipped away, unaware of the eyes watching her.
Ryeowook was walking to lunch when she heard someone singing. She followed the voice to find Yesung singing alone in the choir room. She stood and listened to him sing. She just loved listening to his voice. She was slowly drifting away, into the music when her phone vibrated. She checked it to find a text from her unni.
Where r u? Get here now. We’re hungry!!!! Love, your favorite unni Heechul ☺
Ryeowook sighed. She gave one last glance towards Yesung before quicky running to the cafeteria. When Heechul wanted something, she wanted it now.
“Will you sit with me this time or not?” Donghae tugged on Eunhyuk’s arm and pouted. Eunhyuk tried to resist but how could he resist such an adorable, cute person? He sighed.
“Alright, I’ll sit with you today.” Donghae smiled to brightly Eunhyuk was blinded. But seeing her smile so happily made him feel happy as well. He let her pull him over to her table.
The girls glanced up to see Donghae pulling Eunhyuk over to their table.
“Hey everyone. It’s okay if my boyfriend joins us right?” Donghae plopped down in the chair, tugging Eunhyuk down to sit next to her.
“It’s fine.” Leeteuk smiled at Eunhyuk. “So how have you been, Eunhyuk?”
“Uh…I’m fine. How-how are you?”
“I’m doing fine.”
“Would you like some food?” Ryeowook held out a lunch towards Eunhyuk.
“Uh…if it’s alright with you…”
“Oh don’t worry. I have more.” Ryeowook smiled and placed it in front of Eunhyuk before passing out the other lunches to the other girls.
Eunhyuk glanced down at the lunch. He looked around at the others to see them already digging in. He looked at Donghae. She was in the middle of eating when she looked up to see Eunhyuk. She smiled encouragingly at him, pointed at his food, then to his mouth, indicating that it’s alright for him to eat it. Eunhyuk smiled before taking a small bite. He moaned; it tasted so delicious. He started digging in happily. The girls giggled at his antics before resume eating. Donghae smiled, happy that her boyfriend was accepted.
“Look at him, sitting there with all the girls.” Kangin glared at Eunhyuk, who was oblivious to his friends, enjoying his meal and talking with the girls.
“It’s not fair. I wanted to taste the food Wookie made.” Everyone turned towards Yesung. “What?” They just shook their heads and looked back at Eunhyuk.
“I can’t take it anymore.” Kangin stood up from the table and made his way over to the girls.
“Who thinks he’s going to blow his top?”
“I say Leeteuk is gonna whip his ass. She’s not going to like him making an outburst.”
“Did you see what happened yesterday? He pulled Leeteuk out of Dance ‘cause he was all jealous seeing Hankyung and Leeteuk dance together. Leeteuk came back a few minutes later all prim and proper and upset. Later I noticed Kangin spacing out in class. He probably got ‘yelled’ at by Leeteuk.”
“What?” Everyone turned to look at Shindong who was munching on his food. “Why didn’t you tell us this yesterday at dinner?”
“You guys all left and Hankyung and Eunhyuk already knew about it since they’re in the same class.”
“Shh, quiet. Kangin’s over there now.” All the boys turned to see Kangin behind Eunhyuk.
“Eunhyuk, what are you doing sitting over here with the girls?” Eunhyuk turned in his chair to see Kangin standing menacingly at him. He visibly shrank in his seat.
“D-D-Donghae wanted me to sit with her at lunch today and I couldn’t refuse.”
“Couldn’t refuse? Couldn’t refuse!?! COULDN’T REFUSE!??!!?” Kangin pulled Eunhyuk up out of his seat by his ear. “You listen to me. When you’re in a relationship, you’re the man, the boss, the master. You don’t listen to what your girlfriend says; she listens to what you say. Now don’t give me some pathetic excuse like you couldn’t refuse. There is no option; you do what you want. If you want to sit with her, you sit with her. If you don’t want to sit with her, then you don’t sit with her. Understand?” Eunhyuk nodded. “Good, now did you want to sit with her or sit with us?”
Eunhyuk glanced at Kangin then at Donghae. Her bottom lip was quivering, tears threatened to spill at any moment. It broke Eunhyuk’s heart but what could he do?
“I want to sit with – *SMACK*” Kangin let go of Eunhyuk’s ear and rubbed the back of his head. He turned around to see Leeteuk standing behind him, full of fury and anger.
“How dare you harass Eunhyuk like that! You can’t just come over here and cause a scene just because one of your boys is sitting with us. Don’t take out your frustration on a poor innocent boy like him. If you have a problem, just – mmph” Kangin crushed his lips to Leeteuk’s, effectively stopping her complaints, lecture, etc. He couldn’t resist, the way she looked while she was yelling at him, a mess of contradictions, just turned him on. He pulled her closer to him, wrapping his arm around her waist. He asked for entrance by sweeping his tongue over her bottom lip. He was surprised she opened her mouth and let him in.
They stayed together like that, devouring each other’s lips, for 5 minutes before Leeteuk pushed him away, blushing a bright red before running straight out of the cafeteria. All the girls gave Kangin a glance before running after her.
The other boys came over to Kangin who was just standing there frozen.
“Dude…” Shindong placed a hand on Kangin’s shoulder and shook his head.
“I can’t believe you did that.”
“Nice job, hyung.” Kyuhyun smirked before turning back to his game and leaving. The others just glanced at him then at Kangin who was still frozen. They shrugged and left him standing there.
“Leeteuk! LEETEUK! Wait up!” All the girls ran after her. Sungmin was turning the corner when she felt a hand on her wrist, tugging her backwards. She slightly tripped over herself and crashed into a warm, lean chest. Arms wrapped around her, steadying her.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine.” Sungmin brushed imaginary dust off her and adjusted her clothes a bit. “Were you the one that grabbed my wrist?”
“Yes, I’m sorry.”
“Why? It’s very rude of you to do that and I don’t appreciate – Kyuhyun?” Sungmin looked up and into the eyes of the one boy she’d been hoping would actually approach her. “W-w-what are you doing here?”
“I wanted to get your attention but you were too far ahead so I pulled you back. I’m sorry I caused you to trip and fall.”
“Uh…” Sungmin blushed. “No that’s-that’s alright. I wasn’t hurt or anything.”
Kyuhyun smiled at her, causing her to blush even more. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her away to a secluded corner. He pinned her against the wall.
He leaned in close, right by her ear. “I wanted to apologize for Kangin’s behavior.”
“Th-th-that’s okay –“
“Also I didn’t want you to go after her. You might hurt yourself.”
“You didn’t n-need to worry.” Kyuhyun gently blew on her ear and nibbled a little. “I-I-I can take care of myself. Besides, how would I hurt myself running after Leeteuk?”
“You could,” he ran his hand gently down her side, “pull a muscle,” he lightly ran his hand over her thigh, causing her to hold her breath, “or…” He looked into her eyes. Sungmin stood frozen there, trapped in his gaze. He smiled before leaning in and kissing her breathless.
Sungmin moaned, wrapping her arms around his neck and deepening the kiss. Kyuhyun smiled into the kiss and pulled her closer to him, one hand cradling the back of her hand and one arm wrapped around her waist.
They stayed wrapped together for who knows how long before breaking apart for air. Kyuhyun looked lovingly at Sungmin. He gently brushed the hair away from her face, cupping her cheek and giving her a chaste kiss.
“Sungmin, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?”
Tears of joy filled her eyes. “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!” She threw her arms around Kyu, the tears falling freely now. Kyuhyun wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to him, letting her get her tears out. When she had finished, he gently pulled her away to look at her face. She was smiling so brightly.
“What took you so long? You called me those two times and never once said a word to me and now today you actually ask me to be your girlfriend. What happened?”
“Let’s just say I’m been free from the burden holding me back.”
“What do you mean by that?” Sungmin tilted her head and looked up at him, confused. He chuckled, gave her a quick peck, and pulled out a box from his bag.
Sungmin squealed in happiness and grabbed the box. She immediately started upwrapping it. Inside was another box. She looked at it, puzzled, before she proceeded to unwrap that box as well. Inside was another box. She unwrapped that box and found another box. She pouted at Kyuhyun. He just motioned to her to keep unwrapping with a smile on his face. She unwrapped the box and found another box. She opened the lid.
Sungmin glanced at Kyuhyun, puzzled, and pulled out a note.
Look at me.
Sungmin turned around to see Kyuhyun holding a stuffed pink bunny just like the one she had 5 years ago, the same one that Kyuhyun had destroyed. She squealed really loud and glomped Kyuhyun in a tight hug. She placed kisses all over his face.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! Where did you ever get this? I thought they stopped making them.” She started to place kisses all over his face again.
“That’s my little secret.” He tapped her nose. “You forgot something.”
“Huh?” Sungmin looked at the bunny. Tied to its wrist was a box. Sungmin looked at Kyuhyun, silently asking him. He smiled and took the bunny from her hands. He took the box from the bunny’s hands and turned to Sungmin. He opened the box and held it out to Sungmin. She could only stare open-mouthed. Nestled in the velvet lining were the most beautiful couple rings Sungmin had ever seen.
“Once I put it on, you’re mine and mine alone. You belong to me and I belong to you. Are you ready?”
“Hold on. Tell me why I should accept all this.” Sungmin looked at Kyuhyun suspiciously.
“I love you.” Sungmin smiled and held out her hand. Kyuhyun placed the ring on her finger and kissed her. “Don’t you have to say something back?”
“What?” Sungmin giggled when Kyuhyun glared at her. “Alright, alright, I love you too. Happy now?”
“Come on, let’s go. I need to go find Leeteuk unni and see how she’s doing and tell everyone the news too.” Sungmin smiled, gave Kyuhyun a peck, and skipped down the hall where she had last seen everyone.
“Leeteuk unni? Are you alright?” All the girls were in the back in a secluded area in the yard.
“I-I-I’m fine. Don’t worry about me, girls. Everything’s fine. There’s nothing wrong. Kangin just forced me to kiss him. I didn’t enjoy it at all. I don’t like guys like that, all forceful. They’re just bullies, complete Neanderthals. They have no class. They don’t know how to treat a lady. No no no, there’s no way I like Kangin or enjoyed that kiss. No no no…” Leeteuk curled up into a little ball and slowly rocked back and forth.
The girls looked at each other and shook their heads. Leeteuk was in denial again and this time it was worst.
She was in love with Kangin and if she can’t confess, she’s going to hurt herself. She’ll stop eating and get thinner and sicker. They couldn’t let Leeteuk do that to herself again. Last time, she had gotten so sick, she ended up in the hospital. And last time, she wasn’t as in deep of denial as now. Who knows what will happen this time if she doesn’t confess soon?
Ryeowook immediately went over to Leeteuk to comfort her. She let Leeteuk lean on her. She rubbed her back soothingly and stroked her hair. “Shh…shh…it’s alright, unni. It’s alright. Come on, just forget it. Go to sleep and rest. Come on, go to sleep, unni.” Ryeowook looked away from Leeteuk to her other unnis. She looked directly at Heechul, silently telling her to go. Heechul nodded and slipped away. Donghae came over and helped Ryeowook calm Leeteuk down and get her to sleep. Kibum just watched them silently. Sungmin came in skipping but quieted down when she saw the group.
“What happened?” Sungmin whispered.
“Denial,” Kibum whispered in her ear. Sungmin’s eyes widened and she immediately came over to Leeteuk’s side, attempting to help get the girl to sleep. Leeteuk was calmer but still awake. Ryeowook glanced at Sungmin. She nodded. Ryeowook took a breath and started to sing a lullaby. Sungmin joined in. The soothing melody lulled Leeteuk to sleep. The girls smiled in relief. Now to get Leeteuk to a bed.
Kibum whipped out her phone and quickly texted someone. She placed her phone away and looked at her unnis. “Help is coming in 5…4…3…2…1…” All the girls looked to their right and saw a man coming their way.
Heechul wandered the halls, in search of someone. She heard music playing and smiled. She dashed in that direction and saw Hankyung, Shindong, and Eunhyuk practicing in the dance studio. She quickly opened the door, slipped inside, and without them noticing, turned the music off. It took them a moment to realize the music was off and looked to the cd player. Heechul smiled and waved to them.
“I have a problem. Think you can help me?”
