Summary: The boys used to pick on the girls when they were little kids. Then the girls moved away, overseas for a few years. When they came back, things had changed…in more ways than one.
“Come on, Hyukkie. Don’t be afraid. Come sit with us.” Donghae tugged on Eunhyuk’s wrist, trying to pull him over to her table with her friends but Eunhyuk was afraid of what his friends would say if they saw him sitting with Donghae and her friends.
“Hae…I don’t know about this.”
Donghae pouted. “Fine, if you want to be that way…” She walked away, leaving Eunhyuk standing there, staring after her.
Donghae sat down at her table, pout still visible on her face. She watched as Eunhyuk walked over to his table.
“Are you okay, Donghae? Is something wrong?”
“Donghae’s just upset that her BOYFRIEND won’t sit with her.” Sungmin smiled innocently.
“WHAT?!?!? BOYFRIEND!?!?!? WHO!?!??!”
“Spill it, Hae!” Donghae glanced away from Eunhyuk happily eating and chatting with his friends to glance back at her friends, looking at her earnestly. She blushed when she realized what they wanted.
“Uh…well this morning at my locker, he left a stuffed monkey for me. It was so cute and adorable.”
“Can I see?” Donghae pulled the monkey out of her bag and gave it to Ryeowook. “Aww, it’s so cute!” She hugged it to herself. She looked so cute and adorable several guys staring at her, including Yesung, got nosebleeds from her overwhelming innocence and cuteness.
“Yesung! You have a nosebleed!” Siwon immediately gave Yesung some napkins to stop the bleeding.
“He was staring at Ryeowook again.” Kyuhyun pointed to the girls’ table before turning back to his game.
Eunhyuk glanced over to see Ryeowook holding the monkey he gave to Donghae. He didn’t know why but the sight of someone else holding the monkey he gave to her boiled his blood. Before he knew it, he had gotten up and walked over to their table. He went up to Ryeowook, pulled the monkey out of her hands, grabbed Donghae, and dragged her away. Everyone just stared at them.
Tears came to Ryeowook’s eyes. “Why did he do that? That was so mean…” Her bottom lip quivered and before the first tear fell, Yesung came in from nowhere, picked her up, and carried her away.
Everyone just stared in shock. “What the hell was that?”
“I have no idea…” The girls looked to where their two friends had disappeared, still not believing what they had seen.
“Ye-Yesung oppa? What are you doing? Where are we going?” Ryeowook had her arms around Yesung’s neck. She had placed them there when Yesung had first picked her up bridal style and carried her out of the cafeteria.
Yesung didn’t say a word. He just kept walking to some unknown destination. Surprisingly, Ryeowook felt safe in Yesung’s arms. She trusted him completely. She knew he would never do anything to her.
“Eunhyuk? What are you doing? Let go of me!” Donghae attempted to pull free of Eunhyuk’s grasp but he had a surprisingly strong grip. Eunhyuk just kept walking and didn’t let go until they got to the roof, only then did he let go.
“Eunhyuk! What the hell was that?” Donghae was so angry now she no longer cared if she cursed or not. “You can’t keep dragging me everywhere whenever you feel like it. “
“What was she doing, holding the monkey I specifically gave to you?”
“What? Ryeowook? I let her hold it. She wanted to see it.” Donghae caught Eunhyuk’s expression. “Wait, is this what all this is about? You got upset because I let RYEOWOOK hold the monkey you gave me? Gawd, you’re so stupid. Why did I even agree to go out with you? This is all just a stupid – mmph.” Eunhyuk crushed his lips to Donghae’s. He couldn’t stand hearing her say that them dating was a mistake.
Donghae resisted at first before she melted into the kiss. Her arms wrapped around his neck while his arms went around her waist to pull her closer. She was breathless when Eunhyuk pulled away.
“Don’t say that. Don’t ever say that. How could you even think that?” Tears had come into his eyes. “Do you know how much I love you? How much I want to be with you? To hear you say that us dating is a mistake just breaks my heart.” Eunhyuk hung his head down.
Donghae smiled. She tilted his head up and kissed him gently. “I’m sorry I said that but seriously, stop dragging me away without an explanation. Next time you do that though, I’m not going to talk to you for a day.” Eunhyuk just gaped at her. She laughed, kissed his cheek, and walked away.
“Yesung oppa? Where are we?” Ryeowook looked around in wonder.
“Are you feeling better, Ryeowook?”
“What? Huh?” Ryeowook looked at Yesung who was just staring at her.
“Earlier, you looked like you were about to cry. I take it you feel better now.”
“What? Oh…that. Is that why you took me away?” She smiled at him. Yesung shifted nervously before shyly nodding his head. “That’s so sweet of you, Yesung oppa. I appreciate that.” She kissed Yesung on the cheek, causing the boy blush. She giggled. “You know you’re cute when you blush.”
“You’re cute all the time.” Yesung quickly covered his mouth in shock. He hadn’t meant to say that.
Now it was Ryeowook’s turn to blush. Yesung couldn’t help staring at how adorable she looked. “Would you like to go on a date this weekend?”
Ryeowook looked at Yesung in shock. “You’re asking me out on a date?”
“Uh…yeah…it’s okay if you’re busy. I mean you can say no if you’re not interested. It’s just that-“ Ryeowook placed a finger over Yesung’s mouth to stop him from babbling.
“I’d love to. Call me with the details later.” She slipped her number into Yesung’s pocket. “Shall we get back to school? I’m feeling much better now and I don’t want to get in trouble for skipping.” She grabbed Yesung’s hand and started to pull him away.
Yesung was still processing what had just happened when he almost tripped over himself. He quickly caught himself then caught up to her.
Ryeowook paused because she wasn’t sure which way to go. She looked down, embarrassed that she was still unfamiliar with school. Yesung squeezed her hand and smiled reassuringly at her. He then gently led her back to school where they made it just in time for class.
After lunch, Kibum stopped by her locker to switch books. As she took out her textbooks, a note slipped out of one of them. She quickly picked it up and saw it was addressed to her. She looked around before quickly opening and reading the note. She frowned before putting the note away. The only thing written on it was a heart. Kibum was a little disappointed by that. She rarely got love letters but usually when she did, they were filled with words of admiration and love, not some simple picture.
Kibum was completely lost in her thoughts of the note that she failed to notice the water spot on the ground. She slipped and thought she was going to fall and hurt herself. She was braced for the impact when she noticed she hadn’t fallen and there were strong arms wrapped around her. She was leaning against a broad chest. She looked at the arms wrapped around her waist and traveled up to see Siwon looking down at her with concern and worry.
“Kibum-sshi, are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Thank you for saving me.”
Siwon smiled. “Oh don’t worry. It was my pleasure. Just think of me as your Prince Charming.”
“Prince Charming?” Kibum raised an eyebrow. “Seems like someone has a high opinion of himself.”
“Oh it’s not considered a high opinion of oneself if it’s the truth.”
Kibum looked at Siwon doubtfully. “The truth? What makes you think you can be my Prince Charming?”
Siwon smiled. “I have the looks and personality.”
“That doesn’t count for much.”
“It may not but it’ll be enough to sweep you off your feet.”
“Sweep me off my feet?” Kibum scoffed. “I doubt that will happen. I won’t fall so easily for your charms.”
“You did, the other day with the horses.” Siwon smiled charmingly at Kibum.
She frowned. “I can see right through you. You like to consider yourself a prince when in reality you’re more like a Casanova or player.”
Siwon raised an eyebrow. “I have never been accused of being a Casanova or player. Believe me, I would never hurt a woman.”
Kibum smiled. “Oh really? Then why did you hurt me back when we were kids?” Siwon’s jaw dropped; he was not expecting that. She laughed, quite cruelly in Siwon’s opinion. “I knew it. You’re just a fake, pretending to be a gentleman. I wish you’d stop wasting your time trying to ‘woo’ me. I don’t go for fakes.” Kibum turned around and started to walk away. She had barely taken a step before she was whirled around and pulled into a rough kiss.
Siwon couldn’t believe what Kibum said to him. It got him so mad he acted without thinking. He wanted to punish her for her words but prove to her he was actually, truly sincere. He broke away after a few minutes. Kibum quickly composed herself.
“Don’t you ever call me a fake.”
“Alright, prove to me you’re actually sincere or else find someone else who’ll love your phony act.” Kibum smirked and walked away. Siwon just stared at her retreating form. He smiled to himself. No way could he resist a challenge like this. He’ll prove to her he’s true. Besides, he hates to lose.
