Summary: Sehun has found the perfect Mitsukuni to go with his Takashi but it's going to take some convincing to get his Mitsukuni.
“You guys, I’ve found the Mitsukuni to my Takashi.” Sehun sighed as he thought of the man he’d just met, the perfect Mitsukuni Haninozuka for his Takashi Morinozuka.
It had happened by accident. He was just on his way to class when he’d run into the other man. The man’s books had scattered on the floor as Sehun stood staring down at the smaller man scrambling to gather his books. Blinking a few times, he belatedly started to help the other man.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. You're not hurt, are you?"
"No, I'm fine. Just late."
"I can go with you and explain. It is my fault." Sehun handed the books he'd picked up to the man and froze. The man had fluffy blonde hair, large, round eyes, and pretty pink lips. Sehun cleared his suddenly dry throat.
The two stood up and Sehun noticed that he came up to his chin. "I'm so sorry again. My name is Sehun. What's yours?"
The boy straightened the stack of books in his arms. "I'm Luhan. And don't worry. I couldn't really see over this stack."
"Here, let me help you." Sehun grabbed some of the books from the stack and smiled. "Where were you going?"
"Ah okay, uh," Sehun gave a sheepish smile. "Why don't you lead the way?"
Luhan stared at Sehun for a moment before turning and heading off to class. Sehun followed him quietly. When they got to his classroom, Sehun followed him inside, setting his stack of books on Luhan's desk and apologizing to the teacher for Luhan's delay. Luhan watched as the tall, dark-haired boy flashed him a parting smile before he left.
"Wow...how did you get Oh Sehun to help you?"
Luhan turned to his friend Jongdae with a puzzled expression. "What?"
Jongdae shook his head. "Never mind, now that you're here, you can help me with this lab."
"Um what?" Jongin stared at his friend.
Sehun just sighed, resting his head on his hands, as he thought about Luhan. "He's so perfect. Just like Mitsukuni."
Jongin looked at Chanyeol who was eating noodles.
"Some manga character." Baekhyun grinned as he stole some of Chanyeol's noodles.
"Oh, that shoujo manga he's obsessed with? O-O-O-"
"Ouran High School Host Club. They have the 6 hottest manga guys ever. And Haruhi, even though she's a girl, is pretty cute." Sehun gave a dreamy sigh as he thought of those boys.
"Okay...so what about that manga?"
"I found the perfect Mitsukuni to go with my Takashi. He's just perfect, looks exactly like him."
The three looked at each other. "Um...okay?"
"I'm going to ask him to go with me."
The three exchanged looks. "And how is this going to happen?"
Sehun's eyes widened. "I don't know but it will. I haven't found anyone else that can fit. I have a few months before the convention. I'll get him, don't you worry."
They weren't worried about that but worried about their friend and how he'd try to get this poor, unsuspecting soul to actually go with him to the convention. Each of them had learned the fatal effects of going with Sehun to one of these conventions and could only pray for that poor soul.
Sehun kept his eyes peeled for Luhan as he walked through the halls. His eyes lit up when he spotted that familiar mop of hair. Bounding up to him, he grabbed some of the books from his arms and smiled. "Hi Luhan."
Luhan stared up at Sehun, a bit shocked to see him again, much less to see him carrying some of his books. "Um hi Sehun."
"Where are you headed?"
"Nice." Sehun matched his gait with Luhan's as he followed the boy.
"Can I ask you a question?"
Luhan looked at the boy. "Uh sure."
"Do you know Ouran High School Host Club?"
"No." Luhan frowned. "Why?"
"Because you look just like Mitsukuni Haninozuka, who is one of my favorite characters." Sehun smiled down at the boy.
"Um, okay. Thank you?"
The two had reached Luhan's classroom.
"Here you go." Sehun set Luhan's books at his desk.
"Thank you." Luhan gave Sehun a small grateful smile.
"Hey, Luhan." Luhan tilted his head at the taller boy. "Do you like cake?"
"Nothing." A pleased smile crossed Sehun's face.
Luhan found Sehun waiting for him right by the cafeteria doors. He wasn't sure how the other boy had found him but he figured with his height, it was easier for him to find people, unlike him. Sehun was standing by the doors, a smile on his face when he spotted Luhan and a small pastry box in his hands.
"Here, for you." Sehun thrust the box at Luhan who took it cautiously.
"Uh, thank you?"
Sehun flashed him a smile before walking away.
Luhan looked at him confused before walking into the cafeteria. He found Jongdae and Joonmyun at a table by the window.
"Hey, what's that?"
"I don't know. Sehun just gave it to me." Luhan pursed his lips together as he studied the box.
"Looks like it's from that bakery down the street. They have some really tasty desserts." Joonmyun smiled as he took a bite of his lunch.
Luhan opened the box to find a slice of strawberry cake. Taking a tentative bite, he smiled as the tartness of the strawberry and the sweetness of the cake exploded on his tongue. Moaning, he continued to eat it until the slice was all gone. With a sigh, Luhan smiled before digging into his lunch. He missed the looks Jongdae and Joonmyun had thrown at him as he had devoured the cake.
Throughout the week, Sehun would be waiting for Luhan by the cafeteria to give him a slice of cake. Luhan always accepted, because it was good manners but also because the desserts were delicious. How could he turn down free food? But to make up for all the desserts, he worked twice as hard at soccer practice and ran every morning before school.
In addition to the daily sweets, Sehun started appearing throughout the day and carrying Luhan’s books for him. He never protested since his books were heavy but he wondered at the sudden attention from the boy who had been a stranger just a week before.
Sehun was always silent when helping him carrying his books but he would smile or mention “Mitsukuni Haninozuka”.
Luhan got curious and looked up “Mitsukuni Haninozuka” and seen the pictures of the manga character. He had frowned, not liking that he was compared to this boy lolita. He was manly, not cute, and yet he liked how Sehun appeared to be taking care of him, feeding him and carrying his books for him. His curiosity had gotten the better of him and he had looked up clips of the anime and saw Mitsukuni Haninozuka in action and his relationship with Takashi Morinozuka. He could see the parallels between them and the anime couple and wasn’t sure how he felt about it but he couldn’t deny he liked the care and attention.
Luhan was waiting for Sehun by the cafeteria, a first since Sehun started bringing him sweets. He accepted the dessert box with a smile. “Thank you, Sehun, but can I ask you a question?"
Sehun nodded his head.
“Why are you doing this? You don’t have to bring me cake or carry my books."
“I’m doing this because I want to and because I want you to be the Mitsukuni to my Takashi."
Luhan’s eyes widened as he looked at Sehun’s smiling face. “What?"
Sehun continued to smile at Luhan. “I have a convention happening in a few months and I’ve been looking for the perfect Mitsukuni to go with my Takashi. You’re the perfect Mitsukuni."
Luhan frowned. “But I don’t care about anime."
“It doesn’t matter. You don’t have to like it but would you be willing to come along with me? I don’t want to go alone and I really wanted to go as Mitsukuni and Takashi. I’d be Takashi but I couldn’t find a Mitsukuni until you came along. So what about it? Will you go with me?"
“We barely know each other. Why should I go to some event with you when I barely know you?"
“Then we’ll get to know each other. You’re my Mitsukuni.” Sehun beamed at Luhan. “I will get you to go with me."
“Don’t count on it."
Sehun just smiled and waved, leaving Luhan standing by the cafeteria doors.
Luhan stared at the package he found right by his locker. He was surprised no one had taken it or anything was done to it but the blatant sign on it saying “whoever took this would be severely punished” must have deterred people. He grabbed the package and shook it, not hearing any sound. Curiosity getting the better of him, Luhan quickly unwrapped it to find a pink stuffed bunny, one that look very familiar.
He spotted a note attached to the stuffed animal and grabbed it. Just a little present for you. I thought you could use it when you cosplayed as Mitsukuni. - Sehun
Luhan pursed his lips and would’ve tossed the bunny to the ground but there was something about the bunny that drew him. Its straightforward face just pulled at him and before he knew it, he was hugging it close before putting it in his locker as he couldn’t go around school holding a stuffed animal. It was unseemly for a man like him to be holding a stuffed animal.
“Hey, did you get my gift?” Sehun smiled as he walked up to Luhan at his locker.
“Uh yeah. Thanks but I don’t think I’ll be using it."
A smirk crossed Sehun’s lips. “Don’t be so sure. I still have at least three months to convince you."
Luhan frowned as Sehun walked away.
Luhun huffed out a breath. He wasn’t sure how he had gotten into this situation but somehow Sehun was very convincing…and his kisses weren’t so bad. He accepted the drink as Sehun slid his arm around his waist. Somehow he was at this convention with Sehun dressed as Mitsukuni and Sehun dressed as Takashi. Already, several people had asked to take pictures of the two of them together which he had allowed since Sehun seemed to happy about it but everyone commented on how Luhan’s attitude was more Takashi and Sehun’s was more Mitsukuni but Sehun just waved those comments aside.
He looked at Sehun who was looking around the convention area, wondering where they should go next. Even if he wasn’t into this, he was happy seeing how happy Sehun was, a side effect of dating the said boy. Sehun had been relentless in his attention, something Luhan had tried to find annoying but had found endearing. With time, Sehun had beat down the boy’s walls and gotten him to consent. Of course, by that time, Luhan and Sehun were dating, something he couldn’t dislike as he liked the other boy too much.
Luhan smiled as Sehun linked their hands together. His arm tightened around the Bun-bun Sehun had given him months before as Sehun dragged them through the aisles to some booth for more anime merchandise.
